Eldritch: Moon 020

It’s been a weird kind of week, guys. Been creeped on, got a mosquito bite on the palm of my hand, felt insulted on behalf of another artist, had delightfully weird conversations, saw a rainbow, the works. But, at least I got another comic page done!

Eldritch: Moon 019

Ahhh, now the events from Halloween finally came back around. Man, that was over two years ago. Making a comic takes a long time, I’m telling ya.

Anyway, if I had all the time in the world, I’d have liked to do a side comic about this guy… Who’s name hasn’t been dropped yet and I almost blew it, but I digress. Sometimes people make mistakes. And most mistakes are made out of desperation, ignorance, or with the best intentions. I am thankful that I’ve never made any mistakes that are as terrible as Sam’s, whose story I think would be more dynamic if I could have spent more time with him leading up to this point. Maybe some day I can do that.

Eldritch: Moon 018

Alright. So. Vampires.

Odds are people knew from very early on that eventually a vampire was gonna end up in the mix. They were first mentioned in the middle of the second chapter, nearly four years ago. While vampires aren’t my favorite beasties, they are fascinating. Like the werewolves of folklore, there are many different varieties of vampiric beings.

Mentioned here is the Strigorii, an undead bloodsucker from Romania (their living counterparts are called Moroii) The Stigorii are kind of the quintessential vampire. Depending on what you read, they had a plethora of abilities, such as shapeshifting, and weaknesses, including sunlight, particularly the first rays of the morning.

However, on the previous page was the term Neorevenant. This is to refer to revenant, that is, a being that has arisen from the dead. Given that vampires and ghouls (zombies) are essentially two of the several different stages of the same creature in Eldritch, revenant was something of an umbrella term that I could use to refer to either, with the prefix ‘Neo’ causing it to mean new arisen being.

However, the fact is, ‘Vampire’ is what people would say anyway… and, in the case of this one vampire… it seems that he is aware of, and okay with this.

Eldritch: Moon 017

If he starts sparkling, you all have permission to chastise me.

I hope everyone’s week is going well, but even if it’s not, try to take a little time to do something good for someone else, and then something good for yourself. Watch the sunset. Eat a popsicle. Take a walk. And please, keep on being super awesome, cool folks.

Eldritch: Moon 016

Oh hey. It’s that guy from the cover.

Eldritch: Moon 015

Is this thing on? Great. For some reason, it didn't want to upload last Wednesday. As always, should an update not happen here, please check my Deviantart Page where it's likely been put up.

Anyway, In my neck of the woods, it seems lately that a lot of people are feeling down on themselves.

I just wanted to take a moment and say that, if life’s been rough on you, things will eventually get better. They may get a little worse in the meantime, and you may have to work to keep things good when you do reach a better place in life… but things will improve.

If you feel like you’re worthless, know that isn’t true. You mean a lot to someone. Probably to lots of people, even if they don’t always say it out loud. It’s really hard to do, but try not to let those who treat you poorly get you down.

And if you feel like you’re too small or insignificant to matter, please know that every action you take impacts the world, even in little ways. You’re important, even though you may not be able to see why yet.
